Course Description and Competencies

What to Expect

In this course, you will work through a series of modules focused on applying artificial intelligence in a business context. Each module covers multiple learning objectives that guide you through identifying organizational objectives , analyzing market opportunities, and determining high-value AI use cases. You will also learn how to build a business case for AI that aligns with strategy and delivers measurable value.

Throughout the course, you will find readings and a variety of interactive elements designed to support your learning. These include knowledge checks and scenario-based activities that help deepen your understanding of how to create an AI roadmap, define milestones and success metrics, and integrate governance, risk, and resource considerations into planning. You will also explore how to assess organizational readiness, develop stakeholder communication strategies, and address resistance to support successful AI transformation. Engaging with these activities reinforces new learning and helps you apply concepts in real-world business situations.

Course Competencies

This course covers the following competencies:

  • Determines AI Use Cases: The student determines artificial intelligence use cases aligned with organizational objectives .
  • Develops AI Roadmap: The student develops a roadmap for artificial intelligence information.
  • Design AI Change Management Strategy: The student designs on organizational change strategy for artificial intelligence transformation.

Assessment

You must achieve a ranking of Competent on each assessment to pass the course. You may attempt the assessment two times before additional support is necessary. If you require further attempts, please contact your Course Instructor or Student Experience Specialist.

  • Analyze market opportunities.
  • Justify AI use cases based on organizational objectives.
Creating an AI Roadmap
  • Define phases and milestones for AI transformation.
  • Integrate governance, risk, and resource considerations into the AI roadmap.
  • Establish performance indicators to measure progress of AI transformation.
Managing AI Transformation
  • Assess organizational readiness for AI transformation.
  • Develop stakeholder communication and engagement approaches.
  • Define strategies to address resistance and capability gaps.
