Course Description and Competencies

What to Expect

In this course, you will work through two modules. These modules are broken into smaller lessons. By studying this material, you will develop skills for creating instructional materials with AI, planning AI-supported student learning experiences, and guiding the ethical and responsible use of AI in your classroom. Through practice activities, you will explore how to use AI to support your instructional planning while maintaining professional oversight.

Prerequisites:

Generative AI Skills (GAI1) is a prerequisite for this course.

Course Competencies

This course covers the following competencies:

  • The learner creates K–12 instructional materials with artificial intelligence.
  • The learner plans learning experiences for K–12 students with artificial intelligence.

Assessment

The method of assessment for this course is a final project. You must achieve a ranking of Competent on the assessment to pass the course. You may attempt the assessment two times before additional support is necessary. If you require further attempts, please contact your Course Instructor or Student Experience Specialist.

Planning Student AI Use
  • Define clear expectations for appropriate student use of artificial intelligence within a learning environment.
  • Design a learning activity that integrates student use of artificial intelligence in alignment with instructional goals.
  • Document assessment methods used to evaluate student learning outcomes when artificial intelligence is incorporated into instruction.
