Course Description and Competencies
What to Expect
In this course, you will work through realistic job scenarios, reflect on possible solutions, and build confidence making decisions about workplace technology. You will practice starting with the problem, identifying the desired outcome, and selecting tools that best support the work. You will check your understanding with knowledge checks, lightning rounds, and practice quizzes. By the end of the course, you will be prepared to make informed technology decisions in a variety of real-world workplace settings.
As you take on this role, you will explore how productivity tools can help solve real workplace problems. You will focus on choosing tools that fit the situation, support clear communication, and improve the way work gets done. Along the way, you will compare tool options, think through trade-offs, and use artificial intelligence (AI) to help you learn, generate ideas, and strengthen communication while still making thoughtful decisions for yourself.
Prerequisites:
Workplace Technology Readiness (WTR1) is a prerequisite for this course.
Course Competencies
This course covers the following competencies:
- The learner applies business productivity software to organize individual work.
- The learner applies business productivity software to organize and present information.
- The learner applies business productivity software to communicate and share work output with stakeholders.
Assessment
The method of assessment for this course is one final project which evaluates your ability to apply the course competencies in a realistic business context. You must achieve a ranking of Competent on the assessment to pass the course. You may attempt the assessment two times before additional support is necessary.
