Course Description and Competencies

What to Expect

In this course, you will synthesize and apply all the knowledge you’ve gained in the Digital Marketing Fundamentals certificate program into one comprehensive project. Using a platform called Riipen, you will select a project assigned by an actual company that aligns with your interests and career goals. You will conduct market research, develop targeted campaigns, and deliver marketing assets according to the project's specifications. You should plan to dedicate 40–80 hours over a period of 4–8 weeks on this Riipen client project. This process will demonstrate your technical expertise and understanding of the tools and competencies you've gained in this program. Once you have delivered your project to the client, you will submit a presentation explaining your process and the strategic decisions that went into your project.

Prerequisites:

Marketing in the Digital Era (D373A), Digital Marketing Science (D378A), and E-Commerce and Marketing Analytics (D381A), and Mastering HubSpot (HS) are prerequisites for this course.

Course Competencies

This course covers the following competencies:

  • The student integrates and synthesizes competencies from across the certificate program and thereby demonstrates the ability to participate in and contribute value to the chosen professional field.

Assessment

You will demonstrate competency through one client marketing project and one final presentation. You must achieve a ranking of Competent on each assessment to pass the course.

You may attempt each assessment two times before additional support is necessary. If you require further attempts, please contact your Student Experience Team.

  • Apply digital marketing and e-commerce tools and strategies to define and plan a project aligned with business objectives. 
  • Develop marketing deliverables, as defined by a client project brief. 
  • Demonstrate professionalism and professional communication skills when working with a marketing client. 
  • Incorporate the use of AI and other appropriate technology tools into the creation of marketing plans and/or materials. 
  • Reflect on experiences working on real-world marketing projects. 
  • Communicate information about your marketing experience to potential employers and clients in a professional manner.
